Malachite is perhaps the best know copper carbonate mineral.
It often occurs with azurite, chrysocolla, chalcocite and other secondary cooper minerals.
Form: usually massive, encrusting, stalactitic with smooth botryoidal surface; internally fibrous, compact or earthy.
Colour: bright green, often bended.
Translucent (crystals) to opaque.
